Weird looking snow patches

Featured Replies

The last couple of flights, I’ve seen very unrealistic looking snow patches at some airports. First time I saw this was at ESKS from Orbx. Then, I thought it was an issue specific for that airport but earlier today, I noticed the same issue at ENGM from Aerosoft.

So clearly this isn’t tied to a specific airport. Question is if this is a general MSFS2020 issue or if it indicates I have some corrupt files on my end.

Here’s an example what it looked like at ESKS the other day, anyone else seen this?

I also have this issue at Aerosoft ENGM. Not sure what is causing it. Are you using REX AccuSeason?

Nope, not using REX AccuSeason nor any other addons related to seasons etc.

Good to hear it's not just me and interesting how you've seen the same issue at Aerosoft ENGM. As mentioned in my post above, after seeing this at two different airports from two different developers, I was under the assumption it's more of a general MSFS2000 issue but maybe it's related to some specific airports then after all. Haven't had time checking all my airports located where you expect to find snow this time of year.

I think I will post about this over in the Aerosoft forums to see if anyone over there has seen this before. Must be more than you and me given the popularity of Aerosoft's ENGM.

Found the explanation to our issue over here. Apparently, it's a DX12 issue. Where I assume you're running DX12 as well rather than DX11?

Thank you for sharing this. Yes, i am running DX12 due to frame generation. It would of course be nice to see this problem addressed. I guess we're lucky this problem only arises at some specific airports. I will monitor this problem and report back if I come across some sort of solution.
