Northwestern Greece

Featured Replies

We revisit the northwestern part of Greece.

This flight departs about 120 miles south of last Sunday's departure airport. We take off from Kerkira (LGKR) on the island of Corfu. The island is only about 2 miles off the Albanian coast.

We overfly the island and then turn east to reach Ioannina (LGIO). We overfly the mountains, turn south, and return to the coast. Our next landing is at Aktion AB (LGPZ). From here we continue to Kefallinia (LGKF), the largest of the Ionian Islands.

Next, we reach Zakinthos (LGZA) before turning north. Now we land at Araxos AB (LGRX). It is a dual-use airport. We head south and reach Epitalion (LGEP) before reaching today's destination Kalamata AB (LGKL). It is the second most populous city on the Peloponnese peninsula in southern Greece, after Patras. The airport is also used by the Hellenic Air Force.

The flight has 307 miles with 6 landings. We want to cruise at about 220 to 250 knots. I will be in the SWS PC-12, please fly what you like.

The flight plans are here.
