March 24, 20251 yr Hi. In my install of Payload Manager X for P3Dv5, the Object Finder is broken. It throws a "Failed to compare two elements in the array" error when scanning SimObjects, although it still populates the folder structure if I then press "Apply filter," but then when selecting an object, it throws "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" and won't add the object into the PMX dropdown list for insertion into an aircraft's slots. Maybe due to some duplication or error in my SimObjects folder, I don't know. But for those objects that are already in PMX's dropdown list, it has no problem adding them to the aircraft. So while I troubleshoot the errors, what I want to know is, where are the items in the dropdown list saved, and can I edit them manually? I see a file PMX_Default_Library.xml, which has a model definition for Cargo_Pod as the only default MyObject, but adding more entries to this file does not add them to the dropdown in PMX. I also don't see these items currently in my dropdown anywhere in Documents\PayloadManagerX_Files\Pmx_Aircraft_Config_DB_P3D_V5.xml, except where they are assigned to specific planes. I am able to edit that file to put whatever object I want on a specific aircraft, but it would be a lot less cumbersome if I could just edit what is in the dropdown and plug them in using the app. Thanks for any help. This file stores the object definitions ("<PayloadModel>") and you have to provide all the parameters too. 3 hours ago, k5083 said: It throws impossible to have an opinion without looking at the stack trace. It would be better to find the problem in your object library and fix it - when the object finder is in trouble, the sim will be too. Sounds to me more like a simobject without a title (or broken sim.cfg / aircraft.cfg). Edited March 24, 20251 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
March 24, 20251 yr Author Thank you! Yes, I'm sure the problem is in my SimObjects tree somewhere. Probably some ai object that I don't use and never think about. I will eventually find and fix. You are right about it being in that file. Much appreciated! The parameters are not much trouble to figure out. This is a more efficient way of putting a bunch of objects into PMX at once, even when the object finder is working. August
