AAO-Plugin for Mirabox/StreamDock/SOOMFON/VAPOURD/...

Hello fellow simmers,

today I released a freeware plugin for the Mirabox hardware devices. They are sold under a multitude of brand names, like "Stream Dock", "SOOMFON", "VAPOURD" etc.

The plugin supports the 15-Button + LCD version and the 6-button with rotary encoders. It is available for download on the AxisAndOhs.com website and soon on flightsim.to.

Mirabox don't offer a distribution tool yet, so the plugin must be dragged from the ZIP and dropped into \AppData\Roaming\HotSpot\StreamDock\plugins
There is also a small example profile right below the download.

The most interesting question is of course if you can somehow use the existing StreamDeck profiles with this hardware. In short - no, they are not compatible. But the Lorby StreamDeck editor has been expanded (1.08 b03) and it will also include Mirabox profiles. That way you can drag StreamDeck AxisAndOhs Actions over from StreamDeck to Mirabox pages. Please don't expect miracles though, the SDK of the Miraboxes is similar to the one from the StreamDeck, but not identical.

A note on how to merge StreamDeck profiles on Mirabox devices: first, you have to install the Elgato StreamDeck software. You can find it on their site, to my best knowledge it is not required that you buy an actual StreamDeck device. Make sure to exclude the software from the auto load apps in the Windows setting. Then you can download and install StreamDeck profiles. Now get the Lorby StreamDeck Editor from the axisandohs.com website and install it. Create some empty pages on your Mirabox, then start the editor. You should be seeing both the StreamDeck and the Mirabox profiles in the treelist on the left and can start pulling actions from StreamDeck pages to Mirabox pages using the right mouse button. Remember to click on the green checkmark when you are done and then save everything.

Hello Sir!

I understand that this plugin is in beta phase and I'm wondering if you get any feedback about it. I'm working with it nearly a week now and can provide some feedback / questions if possible.

Regards

Not really, no. One bug had been identified a few days ago (MultiGauge didn't work correctly) and that has been fixed. Other than that, nothing.

It is working now 90%... The image upload button still not working. If I manually add the name and code64 to the json file it reads it now at least (not like before).

Also the "fast turn" encoder function not working for me.

I'm not a dev at all, but I put the Multigauge js file into Phoenix Code and it highlighted a couple missing ";"...

Could that be the issue?

Which one? The person who reported the bug seemed to be happy with it.

It doesn't show any errors in the Debug console that comes with the Stream Controller software.

On which action? Encoders haven't been implemented yet, the N4 hardware is still on its way from China.

In the Multigauge option.

The image definitions are created, but when I select an image from the opened window, nothing happens.

All remains blank. After "Save" the manifest.json stays the same. No update to it.

That is an error in the file upload. It works completely differently from the Elgato software, curiously enough.

Will be fixed in version 47.01

Thanks. No problem, I can still do them manually in the meantime.

They weren't supposed to have fast turn. Forgot to clean up the PI. I will look into it.

Oh. Ok. Thanks for the info!

Have a great weekend!

The Elgato StreamDeck software has a parameter that indiciates how many "ticks" were made in the one turn event. That can be used to measure a "fast turn". The Mirabox doesn't do that, so the existing fast turn implementation cannot work. I was planning to wait for the N4 (with the proper rotary encoders) to see what's what.
