Descending issues with 737 MAX FS2024

Featured Replies

Looking for input. I fly for a virtual airline and I am currently using the MSFS 2024 B737-800 MAX. I can't find a procedure to descend without breaking the flight level restrictions. I:E 250 knots below 10,000 feet. I am not using VNAV, I have turned off the autothrottle to try to reduce my speed. If I deploy the speed brakes the airspeed increases. I imagine that is due to the fact that the autopilot senses the nose up and applies power to prevent a stall. If I use one degree flaps I get the same results. Descent rate is 1800 fpm. Any ideas how to reduce speed without this happening.

VNAV would (in reality) manage this for you.  Or, level change or vertical speed (with a shake descent rate) and set 250kts in the speed window, but do it about a thousand feet early to give the plane time to pitch up and slow down.

My understanding though is that the default Max in 2024 doesn't behave very correctly with regards to the entire autoflight system, so none of that may work as it's supposed to.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I don't think the VNAV is working at this point.

Does it apply power? You should be able to see that in the EICAS. In my experience, VNAV works during the descend including the decceleration phase.

I would recommend to study a video like the following one which does not mention an issue with the slowing down:

Thank you. I have done many searches and have not seen this one.
