My Copilot is not handling ATC (MS2024)

The only option I've found is to enable "AI Radio Communications" in the Assistance Settings, but my copilot refuses to acknowledge any instructions from ATC. I have to manually reply. I hope I'm overlooking something, because I won't believe it's possible for them to make ATC worse than it was in 2020. 🙂

Do I need to do something to tell the sim I have a copilot? I'm using the Kodiak and there's a copilot guy sitting in the seat, so I assume the sim knows I have a copilot, but maybe there's something else I need to do?
