July 29, 2025Jul 29 I love my Microsoft FF2 joystick for all my sims. I have been using this joystick (I have purchased quite a few of them) with P3d utilizing Russell Dirks' FS Force software, and it works great. I have been using the FF2 joystick for many, many years. I also used it in MSFS 2020 before MSFS 2024 came out. I used it with XP Force software, and it was very acceptable in producing force feedback. I recently purchased XP Force for MS2024 and I use it every day. It's supposed to work for both 2020 and 2024. When I initialize it, it opens 2024, and I am pleased with how it works. However, I would also like to initialize it and direct it to MSFS 2020, since I fly both sims. HOW DO I use XP FORCE so that it goes specifically to 2020 OR 2024...depending on the sim I wish to fly? If you know how to configure this, please give me your advice. Thanks. Stan

July 30, 2025Jul 30 you can manual start apps: 1. Set FSforce OFF for start FS. Start FSForce Start MSFS for your choice from shorcut. This sounds logical and easy; however, I've tried to do this in the Global settings when MSFS is running. I type in 0 where there is a 1 on Autostart. I hit SAVE and it doesn't work. I try to start XP Force and it auto starts MSFS again. If you've actually done this, I'd be interested in how you accomplished it.
July 30, 2025Jul 30 Author OK. I figured out how to be able to switch from one version to the other and us XP Force. When you start XP Force, it quickly brings up the intro screen for MSFS 2024 (on my system). I immediately X Out the MSFS 2024 screen and the XP Force is still there loading. I then just start MSFS 2020 and it works. Perhaps that's the simplest way to switch from one sim to the other and still get the benefit of using XP Force. Thanks for answering this thread and providing good insight into solving this issue. For me...Issue closed! Stan

When XPForce and MSFS running right click on XPForce in taskbar, uncheck "Autostart". Second way: same as you don but do it when apps not run. Brilliant! Sometimes the solution is right in front of you, and you don't see it. Wow! I didn't see that right click on the XPForce taskbar....I went right into the Settings with the right click. That is the "PERFECT" solution! Thanks MaSi
