July 30, 2025Jul 30 I was dumb and got the cheapest one because I wasn't sure how well my PC could handle it. It works good, and I would like bigger and more realistic plane as 736's dont even fly in europe. I'm pretty much limited to pmdg737's for performance considerations. So I won't buy any other addons anyways. Is the 738's flight model and overall feeling so different to 736 that it would be worth of 60e? Tell me what you think if you have 738 or others 🙂
July 30, 2025Jul 30 ANY 73x is going to limit options for flights in Europe as a much greater portion of flights are on Airbus aircraft. I almost never fly Airbus anything in MSFS so I fly routes operated on Airbus aircraft IRL using a 73x. In any case it's not a realistic simulation of a real-world flight so for me it would make no difference which 73x I fly. I happen to have 737, 738, and 739 and fly the 738 most often. After having 737, 8, 9 would I buy a 738 if I only had a 736...probably because I'm a glutton for throwing money away on superfluous things like this...would it really any difference if I only had a 736...probably not. TLDR: don't be like me and buy a bunch of PMDG 73x models, just stick with the 736. Are there handling differences between the models - yes but they're relatively subtle. Of 737,8,9 the 737 is more nimble and the 739 more clumsy. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB

But you think theres not much of a difference in flying them? A320:s I have worse performance so they re off limits for me, also started to rly like 737!
July 30, 2025Jul 30 As I indicated the differences are subtle. From what I've read the 736 is the hotrod of the models, with impressive climb rates and relatively low takeoff and landing speeds. As far as handling size matters - as you get to the progressively larger airframes maneuvers are less sporty. Roll rate and pitch changes are where I see the difference between models, with some subtle differences in flare/float to arrest descent. As far as procedures on the flightdeck there's really no difference. When sitting in the flightdeck you would have no idea what model you are in. The 738 is the most regularly flown IRL, and the one I fly 80% of the time, while excepting the 736, the 739 is least regularly used IRL. It really comes down to resources - does one have the discretionary income to buy another $70ish toy, or is that money really needed elsewhere? If cost isn't a factor, get the 738. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB

October 1, 2025Oct 1 Really only reason to buy more than one is if you are a fan of a particular model used by a particular airline. IRL I flew a number of types of the 737, as many as three different ones in a day. We used to put a little card on the isle stand reminding us which we were flying as they all landed a little differently. Subtile enough to be harder to differentiate n the sim. The longer ones had more rotational inertia and flair was started a little earlier.

That way, I give myself free reign to fly anywhere without bothering about airlines, code shares, or any other such bureaucratic nonsense! For some reason, the sales staff at Boeing seem to like their flights from Gatwick to Humberside. What do they know that I don't about Scunthorpe? 😀
