August 6, 2025Aug 6 I have Thrustmaster quad and stick which I am binding in AAO and is registering activity in the AAO console, the Simconnect light is green and AAO is receiving events from sim. Also, all my streamdeck buttons are working in the game as well. The only thing that isn't working is that all bound hardware from AAO is not working in msfs2024, it simply isn't creating activity in the game. I can map in game, and it works, I can see the activity from the AAO console... nothing in game. I've used AAO without issue in 2020 and I saw some other posts to remove appdata and everything for 2020 so I wiped it out and started totally fresh... same issue.
August 6, 2025Aug 6 Commercial Member Sorry, no idea. This has never happened before. Are you certain that you are using the correct assignments correctly? 1. There are separate AAO versions for MSFS 2020 and 2024. 2. You cannot assign the same hardware both in the sim and in AAO at the same time. 3. Make sure to assign the correct items in AAO. For axis, the MSFS sims prefer Events over Variables. You select them from the second box from the top. The most common axis events are in the first group. 4. Be aware that assignments can be totoally different from one aircraft to the next. And they may not be the same between MSFS 2020 and 2024 5. Check Hardware->Device Blacklist. When errors happen in input device pickup, AAO will blacklist the device. While you are on the blacklist dialog, make sure that you only have your actual game controllers in the list on the left. Everything else must go into the list on the right using the "Ignore" button. That makes sure that you don't get interference by incompatible hardware. Edited August 6, 2025Aug 6 by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
August 6, 2025Aug 6 Author I am just using the standard Axis selection that I have in the past. I'm reasonably savvy and have used the software extensively with msfs2020. I've checked the triggers for the Stream Deck and assigned those (such as the parking brake) across two different aircraft (because my primary setup was the A2A which I thought might be the culprit, but I have the same issue with the standard Cessna 172). The parking brake button works on the stream deck, doesn't work on my TMaster quad... and AAO shows the light for on and off so it's seeing the hardware flawlessly, it's just not passing it to the sim. Everything is properly in the denylist. Thing is as well, AAO can see the movement of the devices perfectly, for all I can tell AAO is running flawlessly, and it _must_ be connected because the Stream Deck is working (however it's integrated) I just can't get hardware to work! I did not try random other axis potential as in the past I've never had issues with AAO and hyper-standard Axis like Aileron or Elevator. I will try that later today. August 6, 2025Aug 6 Commercial Member I don't know what to tell you - what you are seeing doesn't make any sense to me. I would recommend sending an email with your proof of purchase to the support address (last page of the AAO manual). LORBY-SI
August 6, 2025Aug 6 Author Fixed. All the first options in "select simulator axis", which have served me well until this point, do not work for any aircraft in msfs2024. Once I moved from "Aileron" from the first drop down to "Aileron_set" from the event dropdown, everything started working.
