November 20, 2025Nov 20 Hello, I'm gradually migrating from MSFS 2020 to MSFS 2024 and I have about fifty airports in the Community as well as Navigraph AIRCAS. Until now, I've been using MSFS 2024 with the MSFS 2020 scenery library. Yesterday, I loaded the MSFS 2024 scenery library according to the documentation's recommendations without any problems. However, when I look at the downloaded elements with MSFS 2024, there are fewer downloaded elements than with MSFS 2020 (VOR, NDB, etc.). My question is: With only the MSFS 2024 scenery library (MSFS 2020 uninstalled), will I have the same flight assistance features for IFR flights (SID, STAR, APCH, VOR, DME)? And most importantly, what would I no longer have? Thank you in advance. November 20, 2025Nov 20 You can still use the generated scenery library for all purposes like flight plan creation. Only a few orphaned navaids might be missing. These are mostly navaids which are not connected to a procedure or airway. Airports, airways and procedures are loaded completely. This is what MSFS 2024 looks here (ignore the note): From the FAQ: Quote A workaround is used to load all navaids which are not connected to procedures or airways until the SimConnect interface is fixed. Note that this workaround does not ensure that really all available navaids are loaded. See here for a list of all problems: https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap-faq.html#problems-scenery-msfs24 Only Asobo can fix this, sorry.🤷♂️ Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
November 20, 2025Nov 20 Author For your information, here is the difference between the 2020 and 2024 libraries on my PC: Config : AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - MSI PRO B850-S WIFI6E - RAM G.Skill 2 x 32 Go DDR5 6000 MHz CL30 - MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G VENTUS 3X OC PLUS - 2 WQHD (2560x1440) screens and only one of which is for MSFS
November 20, 2025Nov 20 Thanks for the screenshots. The numbers for some navaids look a bit low to what I have. Do you have a Navigraph update installed? Half of the MSFS 2024 airports are heliports which are counted too. This is expected. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
November 20, 2025Nov 20 Author Yes, I have the AIRAC 2511 But I don't use Navigraph Chart, I find LNM more practical for visualizing flight plans and especially for finding and visualizing intermediate transitions during approaches. Which brings me back to thanking you again for this add-on. 😉 Edited November 20, 2025Nov 20 by Area Config : AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - MSI PRO B850-S WIFI6E - RAM G.Skill 2 x 32 Go DDR5 6000 MHz CL30 - MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G VENTUS 3X OC PLUS - 2 WQHD (2560x1440) screens and only one of which is for MSFS
November 20, 2025Nov 20 Just now, Area said: But I don't use Navigraph Chart, I find LNM more practical for visualizing flight plans and especially for finding and visualizing intermediate transitions during approaches. Chart does not matter. LNM will skip reading some navaids if you updated MSFS with Navigraph. This does not matter since you should update the LNM database too using the Navigraph FMS Data Manager and this will deliver all navaids. At the end the result is better, complete regarding navaids and has more features (airspaces, holds, MSA, MORA and more) using the Navigraph update in LNM. You can ignore the discrepancy in the LNM loading dialog if you have a Navigraph update. Just do not forget to update the LNM database too. And ... you're welcome.🙃 Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
