March 12Mar 12 a new graphics card so I went to FS 2024 to use it. So, went and bought the 2024 version of AxisandOhs. Already had on FS2020 (FS2020 version of course). The 2024 version seemed to find my button definitions from the 2020 version. Used it once. Next time I went into sim it recognizes the aircraft but the ASSIGNED BUTTONS was empty. I went back to FS 2020 version to see what I had set up and recreated it in the FS 2024 verson. Again, used it once and gone the next time. I had done a database backup just in case. Tried to restore... no luck. If I go to offline mode and select the aircraft the button assignments reappear. Help! I have no clue why they should vanish.
March 13Mar 13 Commercial Member AAO 2020 and AAO 2024 are two separate applications with separate databases. They do not share axis/button definitions or scripts. You have to create new assignments in AAO 2024. If you want to make sure that they are saved to disk, click on the yellow hard disk symbol at the bottom of the AAO dialog. LORBY-SI

March 13Mar 13 Author Thanks. I thought by saving database through menu it would save to disk. I will try it with the yellow disk at bottom and see if this cures the problem. I guess I made a donation to the cause buying the 2024 version when I did not need to. Will report back on success or not on buttons staying

Will report back on success or not on buttons staying Sometimes there is an issue with the app configuration files that Windows creates for an app of this kind. Shut down AAO and try deleting all folders named like this: C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\LWR\LorbyAxisAndOhs_MSFS2024._Url* When in doubt, check the AAO logfiles for errors (and/or send them to the support mailaddress - this is on the last page of the manual). C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\LORBY_SI\LorbyAxisAndOhsMSFS24 Also, be mindful that AAO manages Axis and Buttons for each separate livery. Especially with MSFS 2024 it is often not possible to identify a certain model as the "clone" of an existing one (because the sim reports them as different aircraft). Make sure that in your tests you use exactly the same aircraft + livery every time. Edited March 13Mar 13 by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
March 13Mar 13 Author That seemed to work. Thanks. I now have to dust off my weary old brain and try to figure out what I did to override the plane logic. The landing and taxi lights are a combined 3 position switch and somehow I managed to have one switch light landing light ensure the taxi light was set off. This I can manage I think with a trip back to the manual and a lot of coffee. Alas, not as sharp as I used to be. Thanks again for your help. UPDATE: Thanks to posting as I was writing this I started to dig into FS2020 version of plane and figured out what I did to solve 3 position switch. Not elegant but workable. March 13Mar 13 Author Ah, just saw last post as I was writing my reply. Will dive into this suggestion as well as I now have a list with duplicates of same aircraft. I think this will clear that up. One issue I found with the livery is that the provider changed liveries and moved the config into aircraft EFB. I will have to clear the list of old liveries and start over so it matches. March 13Mar 13 Author One last thing.... link in start menu had a shortcut to what is supposed to be manual for FS2024 but it is not found on my computer. Website list a manual just labeled MSFS. Are they one in the same manual for both?

The manual is supposed to be here: C:\Program Files\LorbyAxisAndOhs_MSFS24 The button is just opening it (= the question mark button at the top of the main dialog) LORBY-SI
