Hello,

I'm thinking about upgrading my PC to replace my current setup, which is starting to show its ageĀ šŸ˜‰ (See signature).

1-What do you think of the following PC setup, considering I’m running at 1080p?
2-Will I be able to run P3Dv5 and, in the near future, likely MSFS2024 without any issues if I max out all the settings?
3-I mainly use FSLABS (All Bus and Concorde), PMDG, A2A, MILVIZ, Leonardo, and so on

Knowing your budget would be more important. Ā Without knowing what you want to spend, I’d recommend the following:

AMD 9800X3D ($469 B&H photo)

ASUS ROG STRIX X870-E Gaming motherboard ($409 newegg)

Corsair Pro 64GB DDR5 6000Mhz EXPO ($679 B&H Photo)

AMD 9070XT ($729 Newegg)

PSU Seasonic ATX 3.1 850W Gold ($125 newegg/B&H photo)

These are US prices so I expect your prices will be lower.

Actually, my ideal budget would be between €2,000 and €2,500...

Would still recommend the above with possible options to just go with 32GB RAM and see how that works for you.

Max out all settings … not without going to DLSS or FSR in MSFS 2024 and not likely for P3D v5.x (especially if you enable all the road traffic options) … but would also need to know your FPS goal. Ā FSLabs and PMDG are more complex and will consume more processing power.

Thank you SayAgain,

Okay, after checking with several PC builders, it wasn't easy to find the right components—except for one of them.

Here’s what he’s offering:
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (4.7 GHz / 5.2 GHz)
Noctua NH-U12A Chromax Black
Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE X3D
G.Skill Flare X5 Series Low Profile 32 GB (2x 16 GB) DDR5 6000 MHz CL30
Samsung SSD 990 PRO M.2 PCIe NVMe 2 TB
ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Edition 16GB GDDR6
Fox Spirit XT 850 80PLUS Platinum
Lian Li LANCOOL 217 - Black

Even with this, I’m already blowing my budget, but hey, I’m willing to make the effort, especially since I usually keep my PCs for a good ten years.

The seller suggested I go with a Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE X3D which is a bit cheaperĀ instead of the ASUS ROG and for memory, the G.Skill Flare X5 Series Low Profile 32 GB (2x 16 GB) DDR5 6000 MHz CL30 instead of the Corsair you recommended, which is more expensive.

What do you think of these changes? Are they acceptable in terms of performance?
Thanks for your upcoming comments.

Regards,

Richard
