December 13, 200223 yr Chris,Hmm, stick something pointy on the nose and paint it white........Currently, there are no plans to convert it to an 'A' variant. There are not that many external diffrences so i guess, when we release it, if someone wants to slap some white emulsion all over it when the repaint policy is done, they can do that.To be honest, this is the first request for the B-1A that we have heard of, i shall put it forward as a suggestion, but i wouldnt hold out too much hope, we have far too many other projects we are working on.Trev
December 14, 200223 yr Jamal could just add the variable intakes and increase the wing sweep; I recall those are the major differences to the exterior. Interior wise, engines. :)
December 17, 200223 yr ThanksTrev! The reason I ask is that the B-1A was a faster aircraft, thanks to the variable geometry intakes. Besides, it looks much cooler IMHO. :D Please do condsider making a B-1A specific model. JData, the wing sweep is identical as far as I know. The B-1A had a more pointed rear fuselage than the B-1B, and has several fairings the the B-1B doesn't. The test a/c also had test booms on the front of the nose radomes. The nosegear is slightly different too(longer drag strut, I think).Check out the B-1A and B-1B pages below:http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/research/bo.../b6/bomber6.htm
