April 29Apr 29 AAO 4.56 b 19 - MSFS Over the last few weeks AAO sometimes takes a few minutes to start up. Other times it is instant. The hardware hasn't changed at all. All the flightsim hardware is in a powered USB hub. I've tried various permutations of turning the hub off before and after shutdown, as well as turning the hub on before and after startup. Also tried launching AAO with no hardware attached. It still seems to be random whether it will load in seconds or minutes. I have captured 3 logs. The first one is a slow load with all devices attached. April 29Apr 29 Commercial Member Did you configure the Device Blacklist? Maybe AAO has to deal with devices that pretend to be game controllers but actually aren't. Like the USB Audio or AURA Controller. Go to Hardware->Device Blacklist and move everything into the list on the right using the "Ignore" button that isn't a game controller that you are using with AAO. Als ignore all keyboards, mice and the StreamDeck. AAO talks to them through other means. Edited April 29Apr 29 by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
April 29Apr 29 Author Yes device blacklist has excluded mouse, keyboard and pen tablet. Active devices: Stream deck Rudder pedals Alpha Yoke Bravo throttle X_touch mini. There are some other devices in the log e.g. UBS audio and LED controller that do not appear in The blacklist so i guess AAO doesn't see these as potential game controllers. It also doesn't 'see' the camera on the list. This is active for eye tracking. There have been no changes to the hardware in over a year.

Or something. Must be one of the devices, in your logs the delay always happens during the query, before the remaining ones are initialized. Take a look at the session logfile (in addition to the startup log, AAO creates a new log file each time you start it). Maybe it shows an error. The ultimate option is to use the -blacklistall CLI parameter and then Un-Ignore your controllers. The StreamDeck belongs on the Blacklist too. TMBK it doesn't really cause problems, but it is also not an input device that AAO can use. Edited April 29Apr 29 by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
April 29Apr 29 Author I did the blacklistall, brought back the devices one by one. So far things are working. But it has always been a bit random so will test more tomorrow. The only error I can find is 29/04/2026 21:40:09.197 : MW: Exception received: 32 from send id 162 errloc 162 which got written to a separate file with the same timestamp as the 'startup complete' entry in the startup log.
