Change the plane icons color in Little Nav Map.

Featured Replies

Default colors seem to be white on my screens. Some users see yellow. I wanted Orange.

You will need a good image editor that works fast and easy: Inkscape.

https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.4.2/windows/64-bit/msi/dl/

You also need the icons themselves, from here:

https://www.littlenavmap.org/downloads/Customization/

Unzip the Little Navmap Aircraft Icons.zip file

There are 10 plane icon files (.svg files), some are for other users' online planes, some are for your own planes. The names of the files will tell you which is which, and what type of planes.

Each of these files is a picture. A white aircraft in black outline.

Open any or all of these files in inscape and you will see the picture, and will see nothing else. There will automatically be a color wheel visable. Move sliders to change the plane icon colors from white to whatever you want. Save the file(s).

Now copy the file(s) to this folder:

C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel

No files will be overwritten when you put them there.

One more step (force Little Navmap from using its cache to make the images on its map. In other words to use the new images instead of its old cache images):

  1. In Little Navmap, go to the top menu and select Tools.

  2. Click on Files and Directories > Show Map Cache.

  3. Close Little Navmap completely.

  4. Delete the temporary files and folders inside that cache folder which LNM had just opened for you to remove any old white icon image cache.

And restart LNM: images of your plane will now all be your new color. Your planes can be on the ground, in the air, helicopters, jets, etc. Which every .svg files you recolored will have the new coller.
