MFS2024 , the comp turns off and reboots...

Featured Replies

I am facing a serious issue and cannot find any solution so far...

A while ago I was running 850wt power supply. But connecting new hardware (yokes, throttle quadrants, pedals) brought a problem, the comp started literaly turning off during the flight. The cause was obvious, the power supply was weak. I changed the power supply to 1000wt and the problem dissapeared. Was running MFS for several months without any problem.

Then SU5 came out. I noticed that the performance decreased after update. There was a recommendation to reinstall the sim. I did so. Also, there was new Nvidia driver released. I installed the driver also. Fired up the sim. But after 15-20 min of flight the comp started turning off. Sometimes just after the session was started.

Cannot understand the cause. Is it sim update or drivers or anything else? Maybe again power supply? But if a while ago everything was good, what happened now?

Will be grateful for your opinions

Just abruptly switching off like that is nearly always power...

Have you checked you've plugged in all the power cords to all the power sockets on the motherboard? I believe there are 3 on yours, standard ATX 24 pin, and two 8 pin sockets. Check they are all connected and seated properly.

Same with the graphics card, that's a power hungry beast you're running, make sure it's getting all the power it needs and the power plug(s?) are seated correctly.

Check the power supply manual (sorry, not the most exciting, AI may be able to help here) to see which power supply cables or sockets to use to balance the load on the power supply internal rails.

If none of that works you may be looking at a faulty motherboard (or power supply - although unlikely you'd have 2 with the same problem) or a faulty/intermittent cable/plug.

This is one of the hardest and frustrating problems to have and worth paring back the computer as much as you can to isolate the problem, good luck.
