Setting up MSFS 2024 graphic settings on new PC

Featured Replies

Looking for a good starting point to get MSFS running good on my new rig.

System - 9850X3D, 64GB expo@6000mhz, RTX 5090, Installed on a 2TB nvme SSD and running a 45" 5K LG GX9 Oled. Wired 500Mbs connection.

The system has run 2020 pretty nicely the last few weeks but I've decided to make the full move to 2024. Heaviest airport scenario would be flying the Fenix into Ini DFW with FSTL Vatsim traffic and I always fly with Photogrammetry turned off. My main concern is pushing the 5K display and I'm overwhelmed when i start reading about all the different DLSS options and the cockpit ghosting. Is DLSS quality with preset M a good starting point? Also whats a good vysnc setting/frame cap and 2x frame gen combo? I have VRR disabled because I dont like the flicker it causes. On my old 4080 rig I tested 2024 briefly and was happy with how the sim looked visual wise on mostly high settings with 200TLOD so I'm not trying to max stuff out either.
