FS2024 SU6 performance really rocks!
Yeah running 600 TLOD in auto fps and still is just really underwhelming. Also the way the vegetation tiles essentially flicker in at the edge of the "render sphere" is awful. If it would fade into and out of view it would at least make it less ugly.

Sim Update 6 (v1.8.14.0) now available
Well as good as performance is in this update Im extremely disappointed in the TLOD reduction. Having to run 600 in auto fps to get it to look like 300 in 5.1. These quick fixes to improve performance across the board aren't fair to people who invest thousands in top tier rigs to get top tier visual fidelity. The way they do this without any sort of transparency is pretty sus.

Downloaded Vs Streamed
thin client streaming model exist to make it accommodating for consoles and lower tier PC’s. Look at all the issues PS5 players are having right now trying to load in aircraft models

Downloaded Vs Streamed
If you have the capacity to an SSD download everything. Every addon I use thats not in my community folder is downloaded but I also have a TB ssd dedicated to msfs. But than again Streaming complex aircraft and airports doesn't seem practical to me when you're already streaming world and weather data.

Sim Update as a happy surprise ...
Is it happy? I finally got all my aircraft and sceneries installed on my new PC last night with everything running smooth. then I see this update has been released today and I'm already exhausted thinking about what might be broken now. Hardly got a chance to enjoy Sim update 5.

Setting up MSFS 2024 graphic settings on new PC
Looking for a good starting point to get MSFS running good on my new rig. System - 9850X3D, 64GB expo@6000mhz, RTX 5090, Installed on a 2TB nvme SSD and running a 45" 5K LG GX9 Oled. Wired 500Mbs connection. The system has run 2020 pretty nicely the last few weeks but I've decided to make the full move to 2024. Heaviest airport scenario would be flying the Fenix into Ini DFW with FSTL Vatsim traffic and I always fly with Photogrammetry turned off. My main concern is pushing the 5K display and I'm overwhelmed when i start reading about all the different DLSS options and the cockpit ghosting. Is DLSS quality with preset M a good starting point? Also whats a good vysnc setting/frame cap and 2x frame gen combo? I have VRR disabled because I dont like the flicker it causes. On my old 4080 rig I tested 2024 briefly and was happy with how the sim looked visual wise on mostly high settings with 200TLOD so I'm not trying to max stuff out either.

SIM UPDATE 6 BETA 1.8.11.0 Aug 5th
But they aren't minor. Maybe some people don't care about it but they should be fixed regardless. The brown AI generated farm field's loading in are absurd. They need to simply remove that feature

Immersion breaking terrain bugs in 24
Just wondering if anyone else notices these two bugs that are driving me nuts pushing me back to 2020. The first are the green fields having a brown mask applied to them extremely close to the aircraft. This makes VFR flying during the day highly unappealing. And second is with almost every 3rd party airport from 2020 listed as 24 compatible I notice the custom ortho clipping in and out when on approach or departing at various distances from the airport. Did a flight from IAH to AUS last night and both are listed as 2024 compatible yet they have this issue. Is this a known issue because I cant find it mentioned anywhere online being such an obvious visual anomaly. Seems like everyone says "my 2020 airports work fine in 24". Running a 9850x3d 64gb of ram and 5090 with all my 3rd party content downloaded local to my SSD or in my community folder. The issues persist no matter how hard I push the TLOD and graphics settings. This stuff wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't happen in such a close proximity to the user

Scenery Preview - Upolu (PHUP), Big Island of Hawaii
Very nice, I see you are using some of my assets. I made a upolu airport a few years back and had it on flightsim.to but deleted it since I couldnt get terraforming right in 2020
