August 29Aug 29 Hey all, been flying on VATSIM for a while and the thing that always got me wasn't the flying, it was understanding the controller fast enough to read back correctly. Busy frequency, unfamiliar accent, you catch maybe 70% and guess the rest.So I built something for myself first, called SkyATC. It runs in the background, listens to your pilot client audio, and shows you what was said plus what you should read back, along with a plain-language explanation of what it means. If it's not confident it shows nothing rather than guessing — a wrong readback on frequency is worse than no help at all.Works with vPilot, xPilot, Swift and IVAO Altitude. Windows only for now, needs about 2GB for the speech model to run locally, nothing gets sent anywhere except a license check on startup. Not free, 15€ one time, no subscription.skyatc.net if anyone wants to take a look. Still actively developing it, so bug reports and feature requests are welcome — happy to answer anything here.
