Let's say your computer is working ok, but you want to fool around and increase performance. So, you change settings. But what if now your system is worse or won't even boot? And you forgot exactly what all settings changes you made? If you have backed up your BIOS before doing those changes, then you can restore it.

This is for Asus brand motherboards. Other boards have very similar ways to do the same thing.

Restart your computer while you continue to push the F2 key every one second or so, so that your system boots up in BIOS.

Enter Advanced mode (F7).

Use the arrow keys to move right and into Tool.

Select ASUS User Profile.

Select a slot (such as Profile 1).

Type in a profile name such as: Working well Sept. 2026. (this reminds you that this profile is working well in sept. 2026.

Select Save to Profile

Exit bios and continue into Windows.

(If you ever need to restore back to these settings, then return to this same ASUS User Profile menu, select your slot, and choose Load from Profile).
