How to save external custom camera views now?

Featured Replies

In the previous SUs for FS2024, it was possible to save external custom camera views by 'tricking' the game to jump outside of the copilot's seat further right. From there the WASD keys could be used to maneuver to one's desired location and the custom camera keyboard commands could be used (as is for cockpit views).

Recently, this trick no longer seems to work for me; Once I move to the copilot's seat, selecting 'copilot' from the view panel does nothing further.

So I'm wondering if anyone has found a means to obtain the same behavior another way? Or is there another method of saving custom external views (toggled by keyboard numbers) at will?

There is , but its complicated and I forget how. It involves editing a configuration text file, unless the file is locked.

I think this way still works but from the pilot/captains seat instead. It takes a big of finagling though of the views and potentially moving the position in the pilots seat around. Once you manage to 'pop' outside, one must save the custom camera view immediately. Then from there it can be recalled with the aircraft and WASD keys allow one to move about outside to make the external custom views.
