February 25, 200422 yr Hi there. I'm presently working on modifying a Spifire panel in the VC, and am trying to install the compass below the panel. Although there seems to be a space in the VC there, and there is a compass in the panel.cfg, I can't figure out what coordinates to use to try and place the compass. I didn't create the plane, so I don't know what the builder intended. Maybe you can't put anything there? There is a window in the cfg for the compass, but I'm not sure how to make sure it is for that specific area. The picture below should help explain... I'm using FS Panel Studio for the modifications. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks,Mike F.
February 26, 200422 yr Moderator Without seeing the model, I suspect that the author didn't map a VC gauge poly on that area, so you'll be unable to place the compass there. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 26, 200422 yr Comment out all gauges, and if the texture is 512x512, place a gauge that is gaugexx=whatever,0,0,512,512. This will clarify what areas have texture mapped onto it.If it's default Microsoft, bets are you have extremely limited control over vc looks to play with.
February 28, 200422 yr Thanks for the suggestions.Turns out it was a corrupted bitmap. I used the gauge from the default De Havilland Comet instead, and it works just fine now.Basically, I just repainted the VC, and re-did most of the panel gauges. FS Panel Studio is a great utility. The aircraft iteself is the excellent freeware Seafire, available to members of Airplane Heaven.I've attached a screenshot to illustrate the compass, and couple of the aircraft itself. Thanks again,Mike F.
