2d switches vs VC switches - programmability

Recommended Posts

Guest bdg

I was recently at another commercial vendors site and posted a message concerning differences in behaviour between the same switch in both the 2d and VC panels. I had noticed numererous other posts concerning the same problem as mine and some that had found other problems with the same switchs. Can you guys tell me if this vendors reply is on the level? Here is what I know. With the panel light switch on in the 2d panel the same in the VC now controls the beacon light. With the panel light switch off in the 2d panel the same switch in the VC now controls the panel light. Another person had not found that the same switch in the VC had a tool tip of "Beacon light" regardless of the position of the same switch in the 2d panel. With the right combination the lights can be on in the 2d and off in the VC and visa versa. There have been numerous posts on this and the vendor seems to be washing their hands of it.The vendor replied that they had very little control over the switch's in the VC due to limitations so to speak. I went through other planes that I own and find that is not true. Can anyone verify if this is just bad programming on their part?Thanksbd

There is clearly a problem there somewhere, and is likely due to XML code problems in the .mdl file. It's very easy to misname a part and have it responding to the wrong code...On the other hand, it is not a huge problem to identify and fix. Ability and willingness are two separate issues... ;)
