Landing Lights Question

Featured Replies

Hi again.Another question I'm afraid :-) Can anyone please tell me how to set up landing lights on a 3rd party model - again this is in reference to Krzysztof Malinowski's P-40 I've mentioned in other threads. I can't see anything in any of the Aircraft CFG files about landing lights - this goes for the default FS9 models, too. I can set up a light effect for the landing light lamp, but I can't illuminate the ground. I'm not sure if this something that's built into the model or whether it's something I can change in AIR file.Any ideas?Cheers,Matthew.

Must be part of the model. I thought I'd search this Forum for help on the subject. You just asked the very same question I had in mind.I went as far as swapping air files from the Cessna 208 since I have another model using its panel. Both have the illuminated ground effects. Simply aliasing to that panel didn't work. But swapping the air files didn't do it either. So I have to conclude its part of the basic model itself.Bummer, eh?Now let's hope some kindly soul with the proper know-how bothers to read this thread. So far, my only solution to night-landings has been to pause, change the time of day and then crash anyhow. Oh well...

The "landing" and "taxi light" beams are indeed part of the model file itself, and cannot be "added on" to a model that doesn't have them, unless you have the original source code to work with.
