openning gauges file with microsoft visual C++ 2005 express edition

Hello everybody,I'm new in programming gauges and I just want to know how can I open gauge file (.gau) with the microsoft visual c++ express edition 2005?I have tried but the software says:"there is no editor available for "(the gauge file)" make sure the application for the gauge files (.gau) is installed.Thanking you in advance,RRS.

You cannot open a C gauge file in this way. To make changes to a compiled (.gau) gauge file, you need the source code (.c/.cpp, .h, .rc files.)Doug

Hello Doug and thank you for answer me.I have downloaded the Panel and Gauges SDK from microsoft. There is the gauges.h. Moreover, there are others files (.c and .rc) but I think it's only the source code for the sample gauges of the sdk, isn't it? Is there a source code for only one gauge or a source code for all kind of gauge? And if I have the source code, where do I put the source code files on my harddisk? Is there anything to install for telling the visual c++ software that he cans open gauges files?That's all for the moment,RRS.

You are very confused. You cannot open compiled .gau files period. Full stop. End of sentence.You must write your OWN source code.
