Place Gauges in VCs

Featured Replies

G'day all.Could someone please tell me whether there are any tools for placing gauges in VCs? I can see how it can be done manually in the Panel CFG, but I'm not sure about the tools available. I've got FS Panel Studio, but that's limited to 2D panels.Any ideas?Cheers,Matthew.

Matthew,You wrote:>I've got FS Panel Studio, but that's limited to 2D panels.FS Panel Studio can place VC gauges, but you are limited to seeing the box representing the limits of the texture(s). This is because FS Panel Studio can not display the model for you. That's as good as it gets. Basically, not a problem if you designed the model and know where all the textures are mapped.Patrick

Hey Patrick. Thanks for the reply. Could you please clarify what you mean by being "limited to seeing the box representing the limits of the texture(s)". I'm not sure what I should be looking for here. I think I'm reasonably familiar with FSPS, but this does not ring any bells.Cheers,Matthew.

We'll a picture is worth a 1,000 words, so this is what I mean:http://home.comcast.net/~pwaugh/pics/FSPS.gifIn the above, you can see the limits (black) of the area you can place gauges in, however, you really have no way of knowing in advance (unless it is your model) how that area is mapped onto textures in the model.Patrick

Hi Patrick. Thanks for the pic. Yep, I got it. I now realise that was confused because the models I was looking at actually don't have a texture for the VC (these being the recent freeware releases by Alphasim), so I was not getting anything listed under the 'window' drop down menue.Anyway, the up shot is that it's better than editing location numbers by hand. Thanks again.Cheers,Matthew.
