July 11, 200718 yr Hey guys,If you ever wished you could do this:http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k282/Ben...parentViews.jpgyou can!! Note that ALL the 3-views are transparent, meaning you only see the drawing. You can see this most clearly when you look at the cross-section drawings. Yes, those are drawings, and not Max curves. While I have flipped the normals on the "box", if you choose to, you can not do so, and even have the transparent 3-view overlay your ortho views so you can see the drawing without making it see-through.It is very easy to do.First, you create a "negative" of your 3-view, meaning the lines are white, and everything transparent will be black. Then, you create a material with the bitmap in the opacity map, rather than the normal diffuse map. Then, you can adjust the color of the "lines" to any color by changing the diffuse color! In this example, you can see some of them are black, some blue, and others a blue. Use any color you choose.Patrick

December 7, 200718 yr Moderator Great tip, Patrick. This deserves to be bumpped back to the top! Here's some additional illustrations (no front view available for the GA-8)...First, the 3 view images are converted to "negatives..."Then they are applied to correctly scaled polygons in GMax, and the images are added to the Opacity slot. Color of the "lines" is adjusted by the Blinn Diffuse Color: Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
