Reading the Gate number you're at.

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how to read/access the gate number the aircraft is sitting at (assuming you're at a gate in the first place).I've read that Pro-Flight Emulator has this ability, so I guess it is possible.Anyone... Anyone... Bueller...Cheers,Bryan

Bryan, Just a guess here, but i think you would have to decompile the airport scenery BGLs, create a database of the parking spots/locations lat/lon ( maybe with a header of the airport location too ) then in the program/gauge, find the closest airport (narrows down), then find the nearest lat/lon of the gates giving you the closest gate.. maybe have a max distance value from a gate to show that you are not at one, 5 feet for instance. Using the GPS lat/lon inputs (1,2) to find distance would be the easy part. Roman
