serious scaling problems

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,I have a serious problem with my Airbus A310 virtual cockpit. The cockpit was 95% done when I realized that something went wrong. My virtual cockpit was too large, meaning in gmax the vc was about 4 times larger than the outside model. However I never had a problem with it because everything worked fine in FS as long as you didn't move your position...So I thought ''ok, I just have to scale the cockpit down to 10 % of its actual size and everything will be fine again.'' I then realized that Flight Simulator is a Microsoft product and nothing will be fine just by hitting one small key...Let's have a look at two pictures:241008_2.jpgThis is how the cockpit looks like in gmax after scaling it down.241008_1.jpgAnd this is how it looks like in Flight Simulator. Look at the VSI needle or the VOR letters. Everything is busted...I tried everything from 'reset scale' to breaking all links and detaching new textures...Though it made a little difference it never looked like in gmax. Now I tried to rebuild the VOR letters, but even though they're not scaled down in any way the result remains the same. The situation is very weird, because the outside model is saved in the same scene, just linked to exterior. Every detail of the outside model, no matter what it's size is, is displayed correctly in gmax AND Flight Simulator.I don't know what to do?! Is there any way to solve my problem?Cheers,MartinPS: Everything you see on the pictures are real 3d parts, not gauges.....

Help AVSIM continue to serve you!

Take your original interior parts, select ALL of them, then add a Reset X-form modifier to the stack. Now, scale the entire selection of parts as desired.Do understand though that any parts that wind up having vertices 4mm or less distance will collapse. If this happens, then you will need to use an alternate method to rescale your interior model via the .asm file.Search for a post at http://freeflightdesign.com for details.
