3RD PARTY SOFTWARE

Featured Replies

WHEN I SELECT THIS NEW INSTALLED AIRCRAFT THERE IS A MESSAGE.MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2002 HAS DETECTED A 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE THAT MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH THIS VERSION OF FLIGHT SIMULATOR.LOAD OR DISABLEI KNOW THERE IS A WAY TO GO AROUND THIS PROBLEM. BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER IF IT IS AN EDITING PROCEDURE OR RUNNING A FIXING PROGRAM.PLEASE HELP!

No need to shout...turn off the caps!Your problem is the infamous "3rd party .dll error". You have to tell FS 2002 what 3rd party software you are using. This is all described in the FS 2002 Readme file. For example, many FS 2000 aircraft gauges use .dll files that go in the Modules folder. You have to tell the simulator it is there. Open your FS2002.cfg file (in the root FS 2002 directory) and add an entry with the name of the file: [OLDMODULES]add_name_here.dll=1 That should take care of the problem.http://www.fsheartland.net/images/Signature.gifhttp://www.fsd-international.comhttp://www.fsheartland.net

I get the same type of message when loading the Bombardier CL60, except, FS identifies a gauge file, not a .dll, as the culprit. Can you add a guage file to the .cfg file? Is there, maybe, a .dll associated with the gauge being listed that I will have to find and add to the .cfg?

Tom

I downloaded a plane that required a dll to go in the modules folder. called fsound.dll. Otherwise one could not hear the sounds asspociated with the airplane. Don't know why this methos was used other than its possibly the limitation of the software used to create the aircraft.Pete
