Important message To all G max (or max users)A common mistake is to use a BOOLEAN command and keep working as nothing BAD happened And wonder why do I got 160000 poly model and so many smoothing problems U just cant do that and

It's not as bad as you say here.It is true that I have once seen the same thing as you describe and then I welded all the points together again. That was for a complex shaped object I had imported from AutoCad.But I use the Boolean more often (even did a test now) and for most objects it works fine, without creating extra vertices.Maybe only with complex objects some caution is required.....Arno

Of course you know that doing a boolie on two curved surfaces couldresult in a fairly hight poly count so one would allways keep yourtwo operands(objects) as simple as you can to start off with. Like arno I've never really had a problem with boolies either. It's just a matter of understanding the tools and how they work. Dan
