Ground2k and overlapping VTP-polygons

Recommended Posts

Hi,When I try to create VTP-polygons, which cross/overlap each other, Ground2k generates an error while trying to export, saying that they are "crossing" each other, exactly like they do to. But apparently VTP-polys should have no such restriction. So this is a restriction in the otherwise so wonderful program, Ground2k?/Sebastian

Hi Sebastian.Yes, that is a characteristic of Ground2K. It might be necessary for Christian's formula, but isn't illegal for VTP's. You can draw over them as many times as you want.I had hoped Ground2K would allow overlapping polys if they were of a different layer... that could allow some exotic effects using 8-bit with alpha textures to create some "transparent" layering. :) I can do it by hand, but after using Ground2k, I'm getting very lazy. The SDK is a little confusing about the number of layers allowed. it's 101 ( 0-100 ). Not 0-63. That should be enough layers!Dick

Hello Dick,I believe that Christian Fumey has not forgotten this feature. Just use the option called "Imbrication", (a fine English word that is, unfortunately, no longer widely used.)I am always astonished by Ground2K - it is so comprehensive and thoughtful.Best regards.Luis

Hi Luis.Again, you're right. I had not used this feature. The docs are a little confusing to me as to how to use this, so I'll need to experiment a bit. Thanks for the info.Dick
