March 14, 200323 yr Okay. A few simple questions. And I suspect the answer is NO to all three (system limitations), but I might as well ask-1. I am using FSSC to build an aiport with four parallel runways (Tinian Island 1945). The runways were designated "A" (Able), "B" (Baker), "C" (Charlie) and "D" (Dog). However, FSSC will only let me call them L (left), R (right), or C (center). It this a limitation of FSSC, or (as I suspect) a limitation of FS2002?2. I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but . . . can I get rid of the women controllers at Tinian? (There weren't any in on the island in 1945.)3. Can I decrease the takeoff interval on the aircraft? It is now around 2 mins. (Which is what it is in real life, except that you can "waive the wait".) However, on Tinian 1945, the interval was closer to 30 secs. (I made sure that the aircraft were not listed as "heavy"- which in real life would require an even longer interval- 3 minutes, as I recall.)Thanks,Phil
March 16, 200323 yr I don't use FSSC, but it probably won't let you name them like you were saying because you are using the same runway number. Try to use runway number A, B, C, and D. Any B-29s to match? :D
March 16, 200323 yr Looks like this may be a limitation of FSSC. I will check on their board.I am using Doc Blake's B-29, repainted to look like a 6th BG aircraft. I have some little B-29 APIs on my webpage that you can download. I have also made some B-29s that are a little more detailed for use as AI aircraft (with spinning props and retracting gear). You can follow my progress at my 6th Bomb Group webpage at:http://philcrowther.com/6bgmain.htmlGo to the section on "Tiny Tinian".I have the basic outlines of the field done. Now it's a matter of adding all those little buildings, tents, jeeps, etc. It was the biggest and busiest airport in the world at the time, so that part will be a challenge.Phil
March 16, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member The runways are a limitation of FS. You can only give them numbers and add left, right or center to this. This is how nowadays the runways are numbered. I think FS has not thought about those history things :).A workaround would be to make you own custom runway with your own makings, but then ATC would still call it wrong.ArnoMember Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[link:home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]Arno's FlightSim World for scenery design hints, tips and other tricks...
