Building effect files

Featured Replies

Hey everyone! It's been a while since i've been to the design forum... been really busy with school.I have question about the effects sdk. I want to make a simulated red emergency flare that launches about 200ft into the air. Are there any tutorials out there that could help make learning effects file programming a little less painful? Thanks

I have never seen a good tutorial about effects. I think the best thing you can do is take a default effect that looks a bit like what you want and then change things and see how it works out.

Thanks for the idea about modifying the effect file... I guess that's the way to go :-)"Shane"I'm flying with Bush Flight Unlimited on BushNet multiplayer. I've been building Search and Rescue missions. Did my first one last night. It was awesome! It took just over two hours to find our missing persons. Hi David. Here's a link to an effects faq for CFS2 ( similar to FS2002 ), at Netwings:http://www.netwings.org/pages/default.asp?...faq/effects.htmAlso, there is more information by Christian Stock, here at the AVSIM Library:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...tock&CatID=RootIf you play with the fireworks effects in the default FS2002, you'll probably get what you need. You can use BGLPlacer to place the effects, or SCASM can do the job.Dick

is there a web site i used to fly with fly BC we did alot of SAR in BC it was great :)

Looks like those web sites did the trick. I was able to replicate what looks like red flares being fired from the surface of the water...I'll try to snap a photo for you to see...Thanks for the help!
