July 15, 200322 yr I'm interesting in construc sceneries for the Caribbean especifically Puerto Rico. Which one of the scenery design in the market is the best for a beginner. I'm a FS2002 fan but in Puerto Rico I don't found a store to buy this software. And in the internet I found a lot of this but because I never use one I'm confuse. If you can help me to choose one user friendly and satisfy my interest.
July 15, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member I think you can best try one of these freeware programs for your scenery:FSSC - http://www.avsim.com/fsscAirport - http://www.airportforwindows.comGroundMaker - http://www.groundmaker.orgWhich any of those programs you place macros, polygons, runways, etc.If you want to design you own objects I would advice you to try GMax. It might be a bit hard at first, but after I while I am sure you will like te program :). July 15, 200322 yr Hola Benito,Arno gives very good options for programs that allow you to place runways, taxiways, and diverse objects over the default terrain. If you want to make altitude mesh, try SRTM_TO_BGL by Matthew Styles, available in the AvSim library. This uses freely available NASA Shuttle data and makes mesh with only 2 mouse clicks. Very easy.If you want to modify the default terrain (coasts, rivers, lakes, roads, etc.), try GROUND2K by Christian Fumey. Just draw a few lines representing your new terrain and Ground2K makes the scenery. Quite simple to use.GMax is without a doubt the most powerful program for creating objects of all sorts, and, in spite of what many think, it is really very easy to use, once you understand a few basic principles. However, it does have so many possibilities that it can get confusing for a beginner. You may also want to try Easy Object Designer by Matthias Brueckner, much easier to start with, although less powerful.Good luck.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
July 16, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member That depends on what you want to make. For making 3D objects we use other programs than for placing roads or runways.
