FSDS 1.x VS FSDS 2.x and framerates

Recommended Posts

My brother was complaining my scenery which was done in 1.x was hitting framerates on his 800 mhz comp. I didnt notice on my 2.53. It does display ok, however. When I started looking at in mine, I was slewing around pretty fast, and found long pauses in slew mode when my scenery came into view. I remembered reading a post that aircraft done in 1.x dont display properly, but 2.x is ok. I opened my 1.x scenery up in 2.x, said yes when it wanted to remove invalid animation flags, and re-compiled in 2.x. My pauses in slew are gone, and he picked up 2 to 5 frames, depending on the scenery. Now the big question... the only scenery that I've uploaded is Spanaway airport. Not real popular because it's so small and remote. The new version is esentially the same except maybe better frame rates and I animated what I think is radar.(it does rotate in the real world) Should I eat up AVsims storage and upload again?

Sure why not? If you have an improved version, just upload it again :).

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

Hello Larry,No need to eat up storage space - simply add a note to the librarians indicating that the old version of your scenery should be removed.Best regards.Luis
