AFCAD 2.11- New Airport does not appear in GoTo menu

Recommended Posts

Hi,Followed every direction in the README to create a new airport. I can modify existing airports and the changes appear. The problem is with scratch airports- no joy. Any suggestions? Thanks,Jeff

Try right clicking your airport within AFCAD, select properties, and see if the information is filled in.W. Sieffert

W.,Thanks for the response. I'm stuck at work today but will try that tomorrow. I know the proerties are filled in when I check via the drop-down menu. Is there something different about viewing the properties by right-clicking?Jeff

The Properties fields are all filled in. Everything seems to be done exactly as in the README tutorial. I can save the airport and retrieve it in AFCAD by using the 'File' dropdown menu, but the new airport doesn't show in the FS airports when using the 'regular' Open Airport function.Anyone else have this problem?

Start fs2004, select settings, scenery library, and ensure the Addon Scenery entry has a checkmark in the enable column. If not, click the box next to the Addon Scenery entry, then OK. If the Addon Scenery entry was disabled, you should now check to see if your airport is shown.W. Sieffert

Everything was already set as you described, but now nothing I do in AFCAD (including default airport mods) is working. The .bgl files are saving and the UT AFCADs seem to be working...just my changes won't show...so I guess I'm gonna have to sort out an entire new problem.Jeff

Guest JoeW

Look in the FS9addon sceneryscenery folder and see if the bgl's are really going there.Thats where they ought to be. They will work in the scenery folder but then it's possible to have 2 AFCAD2 files .....then you have FS9 crashes.. Joe W.

Hi Joe,The files are all there (in the addon scenery folder). I also have .bgls in my regular scenery folder for the scratch airport. These were created by FSSC, so for example, I have (in my addon folder) AF_test.bgl, and in my regular folder I might have FSSC_test.bgl (as an example). As far as I know, these files have different scenery aspects compiled, such as the parking changes done in the regular AFCAD .bgl, and maybe an additional building added with the FSSC .bgl (if that makes sense). From what I understand, this shouldn't conflict. I haven't had any problem with crashes.I'm starting to wonder if the conflict could be caused by some other program files, such as UT or the FSSC files, but don't see why that would be.Jeff
