Modifying API macros

I see everywhere people create great macros usin EOD, VOD etc. While these are freeware and usable in AFW, FSSD and the like, they often aren't quite right for the scenery I want to tackle. My question is... is there a way to modify the texture, colour or to tweak the actual visual design without starting from scratch, or is the only approach to write to the macro designer and see the source (ie th .EOD or .VOD file). I have accumulated so many good macro files, that just arent quite right.RegardsBryan

If you don't have the source the only way to change them would be to work with the SCASM source direct. This requires that you know your way around in the source and is probably not an option for most users. If you want to change them with the GUI programs you need to have the source of the object.

Changing the texture is fairly easy, and it is probably your only real option if you want to change how the macro looks. It would probably be easier to simply create a new macro rather than trying to alter an existing one. Also, if you email the author he might share the source object with you and then you could edit it in whatever design program it was created in.- Martin

Thanks Arno and Martin. I will have a go at creating what I need on EOD. Also will have a try at changing textures in existing macro. Seems to be a good way to learn a bit about SCASM coding. Really appreciate the helpand ideas in these design forums.RegardsBryan
