mdl vs xml , Want bgl with my coordinates

Featured Replies

Hi Larry. You need to change the format of the lat and lon: lat="N38 42.2390761700932" lon="W107 38.9286347182991"The XML will compile the numbers with the colon (:), but it will not show where you want it.You must have copied the wrong set from TCalc2004. The lat lon can be like this ( decimal degrees ): lat="38.703984602" lon="-107.648810578"That should be the same spot. I used that with my own MDL, and it compiled and showed fine.<?xml version="1.0"encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>You just need the BGL files and textures in the folders, the MDL and XML aren't used by the sim... but they should do no harm there.Dick

Hi Dick and all following this thread,Sucess! :) I finally got a house to show up in FS2004. Apparently the tutorial steps to make the LODs (pp 32)is essential. Dick saying that my BGL showed up in hs FS using HIS mdl gave me a clue. I had the textures put into FS2004/addon scenery and the BGL in FS2004addon sceneryscenery but it didn't show until I went back and did the LOD thing in the Gmax Scenery Tutorial. Incidently if you don't have the textures the house will still show but in all grey. I put this info in the post in case any of you Gmax newbie sufferes are following. Now I need to get better at Gmax so one house dosn't take me several days!Larry Costa
