October 18, 200421 yr Commercial Member Howdy, indeed it can and has been, quite a while ago. Go to http://www.b314clipper.com Under Support > Downloads you'll find a small file called "Real Stars V.1", which will nicely improve your night sky.Cheers, HolgerP.S.: Just noticed it's also in the file library here: real_stars.zip
October 18, 200421 yr Chris Wright has spent much time on this subject and has provided a program to add and modify the stars.dat. It also addresses this particular issue. Just ask him for a link in this forum.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
October 19, 200421 yr Luis, thanks for the mention! AutoStar is a small utility that lets you display the brighter planets for any given date. You can also display the celestial circles, put an image among the stars and also display a comet. I've put the original release plus the two updates into a single zip, but note that it's functionally identical to the updates, so if you already have the updates there's no need to download this. If you want to add a bit of 'night-sky scenery' you can get it here: http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/autostar.zip Best regards, Chris
