May 12, 200521 yr Hi,I've been making a relistic Afcad file for Belfast aldergrove, but I can't seem to make the AI traffic take the red route show in the picture after landing on runway 25. In real life aircraft land on runway 25 and taxi down the runway and turn off right onto Runway 35 or the start of 17 but I can't make it do this in my Afcad. Can anyone help and explain if it's possible and how to do it?http://members.lycos.co.uk/electronicplayground/egaa.jpgMany ThanksAdeyhttp://members.lycos.co.uk/electronicplayg...0easydriver.jpg[image]http://members.lycos.co.uk/electronicplayground/forum/files/700easydriver.jpg[/image]
May 12, 200521 yr Do you think you could attach your afcad as a zip file? It is difficult to see the taxiways on your pic.George
May 13, 200521 yr I'm working on it. The main problem is that AI always take the nearest exit. A Hercules stops so quickly it turns round and exits at taxiway A. If you close taxiways A & B it taxis via rwy 17/35 (your red line). However, with A & B open, a VC-10 or Concorde ignores rwy 17/35 and exits at taxiway D. Perhaps adding a few more nodes on the centreline may help to slow the aircraft so that it exits via 17/35.George
May 13, 200521 yr Yes, if you add nodes as indicated, Concord will turn at Rwy 17/35.GeorgeThanks to ImageShack http://www.imageshack.us for Free Image Hosting
May 14, 200521 yr Hi there!Read the second part of this article about how an airport is made; it may help you making it more realistic; for instance, concerning the holding positions that in the pic you provided seem too close to runway center line: http://www.skycolors.com/paper_the-airport.htmCheers
May 14, 200521 yr Holding positions close to the runway will have little effect, too far away and the aircraft will not take off.George
May 26, 200521 yr Thanks for you help everyone... My AI planes now take the proper real life route! Thanks George!:)
