Texturing an apron

Recommended Posts

Guest Jos

Hello,Want to texture an apron, so a large polygon. With the gate numbers drawn on the ground and taxilines (maybe I draw this taxilines better with another program such as FSSC). Using PSP for this job.Had to look out that 256 x 256 is used... and the polygon is much larger... I see many problems.Otherwise there is GMAX text and can I put these numbers on a plane and put the whole on the right coords ?Can someone tell me the best way to do this ?Thanks. Jos

Jose,If you are just trying to do gate numbers and other small textures, I suggest building them with GMAX. You must use some of the techniques disscussed here and at the scenerydesign.org link below:http://www.scenerydesign.org/forum/showthread.php?t=479Then do your actual apron and taxilines in AFCAD2 by Lee Swordy.Hope this helps to start you off.Matt Perryfoxtrotsierra.org

Hi Jose,With the FS2002 gamepack of GMax it is also possible. I still think that it is even easier with the old gamepack :). You only need to make a small tweak to the source code to make your polygons real ground polygons. Have a look at this article:http://www.scenerydesign.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92
