July 18, 200520 yr Ok, so...I have built a hangar, export it with HDG 000 from GMAX...In Gmax, I have the object centered and how I want it exported...I put it in the sim, the object's HDG is off from what it should be...it's not even 000! So, I try to enter the heading of what the front of the building she be looking towards...it changes the objects orientation in FS, but, the HDG is NOT what I typed in for the export...any ideas?I am using the 2k2 SDK in Gmax, as I like its export options better...for some reason with the 2k4 SDK it does not keep my objects scale, which becomes a pain! Thanks for any help.
July 19, 200520 yr Author make a note of the hdg you put into the makemodel. Then make a note of the hdg of the object in FS9. Mine for Little Rock is 4 degrees diference, so say if I want a building to face 090 degrees, I type 086 in the exporter, just a matter of finding the variation.Gary HayesLevel-D Simulations Development TeamNo im not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.P4 3.0ghz w/HT & FSB..Radeon X850XT 256MB..1 gig PC3200 DDR RAM..Sound Blaster Audigy w/5.1 THX Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
July 19, 200520 yr Commercial Member The magic word here is magnetic variation. You can find the variation for your location at the airport chart. On some locations close to the northpole this variation can be as big as 20 degrees. July 19, 200520 yr Author just goto slew, set hdg to 000 and hit the space bar. It will give you the mag var diference. Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
