AFCAD textures

Featured Replies

Is there somewhere one can put edited MS textures, eg.RUNWAY12.bmp,other than the default texture folder so the textures are only used/called in a developed scenery's immediate area?Or, is it possible to redirect an Afcad path to a different texture set for a particular AFCAD?http://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_jkanold.gif

Hi Jim,No, I don't think this is possible, although it might be a nice idea to just try to place one such texture in your local texture folder. It is certainly not possible to specify a different path somewhere in the BGL file.

If you're interested in making an unusual looking runway, you could use regular old FS2002 scenery tools (or more modern stuff if you can do what you want with it) and overlay the AFCAD stuff. AFCAD data in my experience will be overlaid by visible scenery elements such as FS2002 style runways and taxiways. See below.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/144326.jpgAccording to AFCAD this is a 2000 foot asphalt runway but it's actually 1000 foot asphalt, 1000 foot dirt. The FSSC runway textures will appear on top of the AFCAD runway, so if the runways are the same size and shape (or if the AFCAD runway is smaller) it should be hidden well, but if not you can set the width of the runway to .1 (which will become 0) to make it invisible. Taxiways you can set right to 0 to hide them. The blurred looking text in the GPS is due to the seabase right next to that airport. The names overlay eachother. This is was a FS2002 scenery made with FSSC that I didn't finish and am tweaking for FS9."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
