SDK object placement tool

Recommended Posts

Dear friends,Transfering a BGL file to the same directory on another computer and activate the scenery won't help. The new computer has the SDK SP1 installed. What is the proper procedure to transfer a scenery object file?Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,What do you want to transfer and what has it do with the Object Placement tool?Objects placed with that tool in general need two BGL files to be transfered, the one created by the tool and the library that contains the object you are placing.

On my old computer , after I compiled my XML file with the BGL Compiler SDK, it became a BGL file, I put that BGL file in the ADDon Scenery Scenery folder, activate it and I got all the addon objectsin FSX.I thought bringing that BGL file to the same directory on a new computer will allow me to see the same addon objects, but they did not show up.Best regardsJimmy

Hi,Did you place default objects or are they from addon libraries? In the last case you would also have to make sure that these libraries are available on the other PC. If you use default objects, only copying the BGL file that places them should be enough.
