June 18, 200817 yr Hello, i hope someone could help me with this issue.Im using FSDS for making an scenery, and my question is How could i apply transparent textures to an object, lets say a box, i know it has to be with the Alpha channel, ok, here is my dealI made a box and i made a texture with alpha channel, color black for the areas y wanna see transparent (Am i correct??) then i choose the box and go to properties and i select the checkbox "use transparent textures" then i choose a side of the box and select the texture option, In properties i select the checkbox "Reflect (file must have alpha channel) and then i select my texture with alpha channel, but nothing appears transparent, what im doing wrong??? please somebody help me Best Regards
June 19, 200817 yr Is this in FSDS or in the sim? I know in Gmax the transparent part doesn't show in the preview, only in the sim.Are you sure your texture is saved in the correct format, with alpha channel? June 19, 200817 yr I though that too, that the transparency doesnt show up until it is in the sim, but is not working in the sim also, Im sure im having an alpha channel cuz im a Repainter.Im searching and searching for tutorials or something for this issue, and i cant find anything
June 22, 200817 yr Author Commercial Member Which FS version are you working with?Also in the first post you mention a setting for using the alpha channel as reflection, that is not the same as using it for transparency.
