Cutting Holes In Photo Scenery

Featured Replies

Using SBuilderX XP/SP3I want to cut a "hole" through photo scenery to have landable FSX water in a lake. In SBuilderX I create two polygons. A large one with a smaller one inside it. The right-click properties for the small polygon and see the "hole" option. It then asks me to click on the parent polygon. That opens a hole in the parent polygon but has no effect on the underlying photo scenery. From what I have read there is a some process that allows a hole to be cut through photo scenery to expose the underlying landclass but this does not seem to be it???Regards,Dick BoleyA PC, an LCD, speakers, CH yoke

Hello Dick,You can simply use a Water Mask on your photo-real lake. Either use the alpha channel of your source image, or create a new TIFF with the water part painted black.I explain the technique in the photo-real tutorial in the Avsim library. Is that what you are trying to do?Best regards.Luis
