February 25, 200422 yr Hi,does anybody know if there is a (complete) list of meshs (90m or better) available for FS9. I like to fly the 1934 London - Melbourne air race route with the DC3, but I couldn't find meshs for most of the countries to cross. So I'm thinking to make my own, but I don't want to invent the wheel twice ;-)Thanks, Tom.
February 25, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Tom:the only list I know of is here http://www.mightier.com/flightsim/ but it hasn't been updated since last November. There are a few new Shuttle Radar (SRTM) meshes for Asian countries available at asvim and elsewhere. In general, any mesh created for FS2000, FS2002, and even CFS2 will work in FS9 so make sure to search through all of those file libraries. Also, perhaps these friendly folks might know more: http://www.flightsimmer.com/forums/forumdi...php?forumid=100 Cheers, Holger
February 26, 200422 yr Holger, many thanks for that informations.I took a look at the avaibility of SRTM raw data, but it seems to me only the 30 arcsec data are published for the whole world. At ftp://edcsgs9.cr.usgs.gov I could only find 1 or 3 arcsec data for parts of the world (America, Europe, but none I'm interesting in at the moment). Do you know any additional source for raw data? Thanks, Tom.
February 26, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Tom:you're welcome! If you have a look here - ftp://edcsgs9.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/srtm/Continent_def.gif - you'll see the blocks of published and still-missing SRTM 3-arcsec data. Not sure what the hold-up is but Africa, Australia, and some of the Islands are not available yet. That's the extent of my knowledge about SRTM; I guess the best advice is to check back often ;-)Cheers, Holger
