October 5, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hello Guys, I was wondering if anybody knows the FS9 Mesh BGL file format. I would appreciate if somebody could help me out. My email is [email protected]: I finally looked at the FS2004 Terrain SDK. I see that the BLG file format is explained, but I am not interested in textures, just the actual mesh data(altitude). Unfortunately that is not documented.Thank you very much in advance.Sincerely,Tiberiu
November 21, 200520 yr Me too.Perhaps you are doing the same as me.I need to create new mesh for which there are no existing info files such as DEM's etc.My reason is I'm creating something that doesnt exist in the real world. There are progr for converting almost every type of existing format over to one that FS can use but what about for creating original mesh on a large scale?Frosty
November 25, 200520 yr Author The Mesh forum is slow, recently. Everyone must be away on holiday. To create original mesh, you can draw the source as a RAW image format - Resample should accept it, I believe. But, really, this all depends on your intentions. If you have a contour map and want to digitize it, then try Blackart by John Childs. Once you have a digital version of your map, you can save it in a format that Resample will accept. But, finally, the question is, why are you creating original mesh on a large scale? Unless you live in Spitsbergen, there is a source for relief for your part of the world - see the SRTM ftp site.Or maybe it is another fantasy island project. Please be sure to put topless girls on the beach so that you can buzz them!Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
