Why won't this stubbern plane Take Off?!?!!?! (PAI Plan

Recommended Posts

Just before their site closed down I downloaded all the planes and I have to say I do like them a lot for the longest time I was playing with FS98 FS2K aircraft for AI due to performance but I knowthis that some of them won't takeoff??? Why???Below is a aircraft CFG os B767-300 and B767-200 same thing won't take off... well I checked the weight as it was mentioned in other post and the weight is fine... I tried to ajuststatic_thrust = 23500.000 (made this 43500 just accelerated faster I think ant that's it) :-(and/orempty_weight_coupled_MOI= 1300.000 (made that 0.0 as many of the good flying aircraft has 0.0 didn't do nothing) :-(and/orstatic_pitch= 0.00 (made that 0.4 then 0.9 then -0.9 had no effect and no I do not know what that is anyhow but I figured I'll change it maybe it will work)PS> there is other aircraft in their collection MD-11 of which aircraft.cfg file is pretty much the same except maybe for (light positions and contact points) and that one takesoff fine.Maybe if someone could point me to what to change it'd be nice :-) thanksAndyBELOW AIRCRAFT.CFG>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(fltsim.0)title=PAI B762 United When this happened to me (not with PAI aircraft), it was that the AIR file didn't match the aircraft.cfg file. Try copying over the AIR file in that folder with one that works (like the MD-11?).Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

This is just a very quick fix for the PAI 762. It it now able to take off (at least flying by hand). I've not tested as AI yet.elevator_effectiveness =5.000There must be something completely wrong within the airfile - or in relation to the mdl.Remember, this is what happens when a B767 wants to be a 737! :)ckfly

I just changed the air. file with the default 777 and renamed it accordingly, now it takes off just fine, I haven't seen one land yet though ! ! Tel.

Thanks for your responses guys, what I did finally was indeed changed the Aircraft.cfg and the *.air file took them from B777-300, now it lands and takes-off very nice did the same to 767-200 and 767-300.Seems like a lot off the aircraft will not work just found 737-400 won't land, so I will have to chage them to maybe original will work.Ahhh, PAI I think did very nice job because normal GMAX aircraft would kill my putter and I had a slideshow with them as AI traffic these PAI GMAX'es seem to have little if none at all effect on performance so it's nice to see some aircraft with gears on them while taxiing :-) , maybe all aircraft made in the future for AI-aircraft could be redistributed with aircraft.cfg file made in a large way off of say B777 (depends on aircraft) but without the Boeing777-300.air file (maybe some copyright would be violated if you redistribute the *.air of Microsift) and just put in the zip info that to install this aircraft you need to put original Boeing777-300.air file into your main directory for the given aircraft and there you go.Now that would make all aircraft fly like Boeing777-300 (except for some I think you could try to use other files like Boeint747-400 or Boing737-400) depends on size of aircraft.I mean really do you really really care if AI traffic Airbus320 flies like Boeing777 remember it will land and takeoff no problem so do you really really care...Now I can always modify my own files the *.air and aircraft.cfg, but sure there are a lot of people who don't know how to do it and taht would help them they would be able to download aircraft ready to go, with need to do only some very minor changes!Dunno sound like a good plan to me, well I will try to modify as many as I can aircraft and put it for download maybe somewhere on my site (when I make one) :-) if anyone thinks it's a good plan?I cannot though modify aircraft model nor textures to make it easy for the computer.AndyPS: Would it be violation of some copyright though?I would send letter to makers of that aircraft before posting it modified for download. I mean I never made it I just made it usable for AI traffic, don't care to take no cradits for what I didn't do.ANd just simple modifying and testing ain't worth a cradit, anyhow credit is not what I care for (totally irrelevant).

Hi Andy, would think your idea is great. There are a lot of simmers out there who would love to have a "complete" set of AI aircrafts for download ready to go. Since there is quite a difference in performance reduction depending on which aircraft you use for your AI traffic. Why should we invent the wheel again and again if others have done it yet?So I
